Man City’s Adebayor faces four to six-match ban
Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor faces a four to six-match ban after he was involved in two incidents in the win over his former club Arsenal.
The Togo international will almost certainly receive three matches on the sidelines for stomping on former strike partner Robin van Persie’s face and a further ban for his celebration after scoring in which he sprinted to the other end of the ground and taunted a section of Arsenal fans.
Despite apologising for his behaviour after the match, Adebayor is likely to be handed over a month on the sidelines and his actions did not go down well with FA chief executive Ian Watmore.
"He ran the whole length of the field to celebrate so we will have a good close look at that one on Monday when we have seen it again properly in the cold light of day,” he said.
"I thought the stewards did a great job in calming the situation down. And it was to Manchester City's credit that nothing else happened."
