Ljungskile’s Burns signs two-year deal with Sarpsborg
Colin Burns has signed a two-year deal with Norwegian second division outfit Sarpsborg 08.
The 27-year old American goalkeeper has signed a deal to switch from Swedish club Ljungskile which will occur in January.
Burns expects to have a fight on his hands for the number one keeping spot despite the fact current first choice custodian Joacim Heier will exit the club for Swden’s top flight.
"Once they confirmed that he was away next season, then they started negotiating with me," Burns told Soccer365.
"As far as playing time, I don't take anything for granted, but they have one younger goalkeeper, so I would expect to go in and go for the #1 shirt with him."
Burns added that he was looking forward to a change after enduring a tough season with Ljungskile.
"This season at LSK is one I hope to move on from quickly," he declared. "Every goalkeeper has their ups and downs in a career, and unfortunately, this was a down year for me.
"I've learned a lot this year about myself and my character as a professional. I've got too much fight in me to let a little thing like an unorganized club keep me down. I've faced bigger adversity in my career than this, so I wasn't worried in the least."
