Liverpool world record shirt deal depends on top four finish

Liverpool need a top four finish for their world record shirt sponsorship deal to be secured.
The Sunday Express says the Reds must finish in the top four for their record £80million shirt sponsorship deal to kick in next season.
The agreement with Standard Chartered Bank – critical to the plans of Anfield manager Rafa Benitez – is worth £20m a season over the next four years.
But the full amount is only due if Liverpool claim a Champions League qualifying spot by finishing fourth. If they miss out, then the sponsor’s payments would be reduced accordingly.

Afer yesterday, they will more than likely finish 6th, although if Villa win their games in hand could even be 7th!!!
a "bankable" deal. Nice pun. :) This only makes sense, by the way. I'm sure Standard Chartered thought their name would be on Champions League broadcasts across the world, and that was one of their primary motivations. Sadly, this won't happen... honestly. We are rubbish this year. But we will be back, and this deal will reach its potential.
Stanchart must remember that they are fronting the most successful soccer team in UK. Of course Liverpool willplay to be 4th or higher but may be notthis season. If Sancahrt os not keen, we will have another bank who will find this a bankable deal!
