Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is out of Tuesday's Premiership clinker against Arsenal.

And he will even be a doubt for the trip to Hull four days later.

A Liverpool insider revealed in The Sun: “In the training session before the Champions League game with Chelsea, Steven aggravated a strain he had previously suffered in his adductor muscle.

“A scan has since confirmed our medical team’s initial diagnosis and the player is expected to be out for between seven and 10 days.”

The loss of Gerrard is a nightmare for boss Rafa Benitez, whose side trail Manchester United by a point and have played a game more.
