Liverpool legend Rush: No argument, Reina best keeper in Premiership
Liverpool legend Ian Rush says Pepe Reina is the best goalkeeper in the land.
"The one plus which could be taken from Sunday's desperately disappointing display at Tottenham was the performance of goalkeeper Pepe Reina," Rush told liverpoolfc.tv. "He was brilliant once again.
"With Edwin van der Sar nearing the end of his career and Petr Cech not quite the formidable figure he once was, I would have no hesitation in ranking Reina as the Premier League's number one goalkeeper.
"I also rate Shay Given very highly - and he proved his ability for Manchester City at Blackburn. But Pepe's performance simply underlined just how good he is.
"Of course, you don't want your goalkeeper to be the best player on the pitch, but it's reassuring that when he is called upon, Reina is the very best."
