Liverpool legend Rush backs Owen for success at Man Utd

Liverpool legend Ian Rush believes Michael Owen will thrive at Manchester United.

He told Sky Sports News: "People have knocked Michael Owen all his career but he comes back bigger and better.

"People said he was finished years ago but he's a fantastic player who comes back stronger and better.

"It (the talk) won't worry him, I know the way he is and he doesn't have to prove anything anyway.

"It's a chance for Michael to get back and score some goals. He'll get chances for Manchester United and will score goals."

well - rafa could have just kept him for 50k a week - use when needed - now with man u formation - where they played tevez / ronaldo / berbatov and rooney together - they need men forward with 2 of the fab4 gone - me thinks - owen will be back - bigger and better - situation is tailor made for him - his biggest plus point - slot it into the net - needs a good midfield - man u have that in the midfield and forwardline and he has what i call the "find the net instinct " - guys, seriously, he could be the new fab4 with macheda this year and that too for a bargain.... SAF - as a liverpool fan , i hate to say this, but u r a genius , any thoughts for the biggest transfer coup - SAF taking over liverpool.....

in the end the player needs to do what he has to do...Owen got exactly what he wanted and it is up to him now to keep fit and score those goals...Ian Rush is right, i believe he will be a success at United....

Simply put, Owen is like C Ronaldo, a traitor. And he won't be much of a threat; 10 goals max.
