Liverpool keeping tabs on Birmingham contract talks with McLeish

Liverpool are keeping tabs on Alex McLeish's new contract talks with Birmingham City.

The Mirror says Rafa Benitez still has the support of the club’s under-fire American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

But Brum boss Big ’Eck is in their contingency plans should Benitez quit or the season end in complete disaster.

The former Scotland and Rangers chief has guided Brum to eighth on a modest budget which has impressed the Anfield hierarchy.

He is in negotiations with new owner Carson Yeung and has a buy-out clause of just £1million in his contract, which expires in 18 months.

His new contract will be signed at the end of the season we know this it's been confirmed by the club and it's been confirmed by the manager the manager is also settled in the area. Secondly why would you join Liverpool a club with huge debts, terrible owners and the whole club is just going backwards it isn't that unlikely that Birmingham could finish above Liverpool as well.
