Italy coach Marcello Lippi has praised Carlo Ancelotti for his handling of the controversy swirling around Chelsea captain John Terry.
England are in the middle of a media furore over Terry's alleged affair with the ex-girlfriend of teammate Wayne Bridge, as some in the media are calling for him to be stripped of the captaincy.
“As always, Carlo Ancelotti showed great intelligence in his comments,” noted Lippi.
“I totally agree with him, that the private life of a player does not matter. We should only be interested in his standing within the squad and the locker room.”
