Lincoln want Villa's Lichaj back on loan

Lincoln City boss Chris Sutton would like to extend defender Eric Lichaj's loan deal from Aston Villa.

The left-back is suspended for the remainder of his month-long spell after he was hit with a three-match ban following a red card.

Sutton said: "I haven't spoken to Villa yet so we will see what happens. He is back training with them at the moment.

"But I think it goes without saying that we want players here who can improve the team and I think everyone who has watched the last two games would agree he has improved our team - other than the sending off.

"I think he'll play right at the top level. He gets up and down and he's decent on the ball. His fitness levels are incredible and something that I feel the rest of the squad should aspire to."
