Lennon out, Downing in, for England against Montenegro

Aston Villa’s Stewart Downing has been called into the England squad for their Euro 2012 qualifier with Montenegro after Aaron Lennon was ruled out, reports Sky Sport News.

Spurs winger Lennon has a sore back and he missed training with the squad on Friday.

Following further tests on Saturday, it was decided that Lennon should be sent back to Tottenham for further treatment.

It is Downing's first call-up since March, and his last cap for his country came 12-months previous to that against Slovakia.
