Lampard: I want to take my place alongside Chelsea legends

Frank Lampard has declared he wants to be a Chelsea legend.

He needs another seven goals to make it 150 for the club - and the opportunity to join Bridge idols Peter Osgood and Roy Bentley.

Lampard is already Chelsea's fifth highest scorer after overhauling Jimmy Greaves' tally this season but he is in no mood to stop now.

He said: "I've set myself the benchmark of 20 goals a year for the past five seasons and I'd love to do it again.

"If I can get 20 this season that will put me on 150 for Chelsea alongside Ossie and Roy Bentley. Funnily enough, I know exactly how many I need. I've got it all in my head.

"For most Chelsea fans, Peter Osgood was THE Chelsea legend. He and Gianfranco Zola.

"I met him quite a lot when I first came to the club and he was always very helpful to me.

"I know how much esteem he's held in by the fans and the same goes for Roy Bentley, who was the captain when the club first won the League all those years ago.

"So if I can get up there with those two it would be very special."
