Lampard: Chelsea fans will give Mourinho great welcome back

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard expects Stamford Bridge fans to give Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho a great welcome back next week.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard expects Stamford Bridge fans to give Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho a great welcome back next week.

Lamps says the Special One deserves a special reception for his first game back at the club he guided to Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006.

But that does not mean Mourinho can expect any favours when Chelsea look to overturn their 2-1 deficit in the second leg of their Champions League clash with his Inter Milan side on March 16.

Midfielder Lampard, 31, said: "I'm sure Jose will get a fantastic reception. He's the most successful boss in the club's history and our fans will want to pay their respects.

"I've seen the warmth and respect that exists on both sides between Jose and Chelsea.

"But once the game starts our fans will want us to beat him. The tie is in the balance and it would be naive for us to say we're favourites. Inter are no mugs and they'll come to London with a 2-1 lead to defend, which allows them to play on the counter-attack.

"We had a lot of possession and shots in the San Siro on Wednesday but we can't go too attacking in the return leg as that may suit their style."
