Kruse hoping Melbourne Victory can extend winning streak over Adelaide
Melbourne Victory striker Robbie Kruse believes the club’s nine-match winning streak against Adelaide United will have the league leaders thinking twice on Friday night.
The Victory have completely dominated their arch rivals in recent times and Kruse hopes that the league leaders’ failure to win in their last nine attempts against his team will make life difficult at Etihad Stadium this weekend.
“We've beaten them nine times in a row. I've heard that in the media a fair bit lately. It's going to be the back of their minds," Kruse said.
Kruse, who has scored four times in seven starts this season, knows that Rini Coolen’s Reds are a different prospect this season but is confident the Victory can get the job done.
"They are definitely playing some good football,” he added.
“We are going in as underdogs and they haven’t lost a game in the opening 11 or so games, they had a great victory against Wellington on the weekend. “We’ve beaten them the last nine games, we’re definitely confident. Here at Etihad after a good win (3-0 over Sydney FC) last time, we are definitely confident we can get the win.
“I think we know we can beat them. Nine in a row is not a fluke.”
