Kruse on fire for Melbourne Victory

Melbourne Victory’s Robbie Kruse is the in-form striker in the A-League at present.

The 22-year old former Brisbane Roar man has netted four times in his past four matches to take his season tally to five in eight starts as the Victory have fought their way back to be fifth on the table.

Kruse’s scoring run started with a neat finish in the 2-1 derby loss to the Melbourne Heart on October 8 and continued with a solid run to score the third and final goal in the 3-0 drubbing of Sydney FC eight days later.

He then gave his side hope when he scored just after half-time of the 2-1 loss to Brisbane Roar last week before grabbing the equaliser in the 22nd minute of Friday night’s come-from-behind 2-1 win over Adelaide United.

Apart from his swerving goal from outside the area, Kruse was electric against the Reds, providing plenty of well-timed runs and using his creativity to put teammates into goalscoring positions on a number of occasions.

Kruse’s showing in Week 12 earned him another selection in tribalfootball.com’s A-League Team of the Week, following up last week’s inclusion for his performance against the Roar.
