Kilmarnock are ready to offer a deal to Portuguese striker Rui Miguel on a free transfer after he impressed on trial.

Miguel has been training at Rugby Park as he looks for a new club after leaving Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia last month.

The 26-year-old has caught the eye of Killie boss Mixu Paatelainen and he is set to offer Miguel a short-term deal until the end of the season.

"Rui is a good striker. He's got good technique, he can link up play and he can score," Paatelainen told the Daily Record.

"Hopefully he can do a good job for us."
