Juventus preparing January bid for Tottenham striker Defoe

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is a target for Juventus.

Tuttosport says Juve's new board want to make a big name signing in January after being stung by criticism of their summer market campaign.

Defoe is regarded highly inside Juve - particularly after his hat-trick for England on Friday night.

If Spurs are struggling in the Champions League, Juve will fancy their chances in prising Defoe away when the market reopens in the New Year.

Juventus do not have the crowds money or wages that would take Defoe from Spurs.

It would need a Real or Barcelona or a massive UK bid for him to be sold.........
