Jovanovic: Man Utd defender Vidic told me good things about Liverpool

Milan Jovanovic says Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic convinced him to sign for Liverpool.

The Serbia international joined the Reds this summer on a Bosman from Standard Liege.

Jovanovic told liverpoolfc.tv: "I spoke to Nemanja Vidic about Liverpool and he said good things about the club and the players we have here.

"Of course, he fights for Manchester United and he thinks they are the best, but Liverpool have had more success.

"Nemanja is a good friend of mine, but I promise him that we are opponents he will have a big fight."
