Joe Cole has no chance of having his new contract demands met at Chelsea.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich is pushing through plans to reign in salaries at Stamford Bridge.
The Sunday Mirror says Cole, who becomes a free agent next month, has demanded parity with some high earners at Stamford Bridge who pick up about £130,000 a week.
Chelsea were so infuriated by the 28-year-old’s demands that they rescinded an offer of £100,000 a week.
Cole will now be offered a take-it-or-leave-it deal on his current terms of £80,000 a week.

CJO- your grammar is terrible. That said, It's about time clubs like Chelsea enforce a wage cap. Spurs have been doing it for years. And as it stands Spurs and Arsenal(their squad is basically all on youth +1 contracts) are the only 2 clubs that would meet the new ruling for good house-keeping. Man City, although they can financially afford to spend 200k a week on players, they would have to sacrifice the CL and Europa League.
hey anonymous 05/30/2010-17:38 learn english before you comment on anything cos your english is worst than shit!!!!
even MC cannot afford to dish out high salaries blindly. the only reason MC seem to be able to offer higher salary right now, is because most of their players are still sitting on pretty normal salary. but even they cannot afford to pay 100k+ to all their players anymore.
not to mention, MC earns way less money than Chelsea.
