Shanghai Shenhua boss Jia Xiuquan has praised his players fighting qualities after they overcame Suwon Bluewings in the Asian Champions League.
Although Shanghai scored first, they had to fight hard during the match and an eventual winner after Suwon equalised was the reward.
“The most important thing of all was that my players spent their last ounce of strength today to chase the hard-fought victory,” Jia said.
“The strategy was not the decisive factor in the game.
“It was not a victory for Shenhua. It was China football’s success.
“Our import players lived up to expectations and they are gelling well with our local players now.”
