Jagielka: Man Utd striker Rooney can expect red-hot Everton reception
Everton defender Phil Jagielka has warned England teammate Wayne Rooney there'll be no hiding when he visits Goodison Park on Saturday.
Fate determined that Rooney’s first Manchester United game since allegations about his sex life is at his first club, Everton.
"It should be amusing," said Jagielka. "Up on Merseyside he normally gets a little bit of stick. I’ll be giving him a little bit as well if he plays. We’ve spoken about it.
"All the boys know who’s playing who. It’s always interesting playing against people who you’ve just been away with in the week."
Goodison fans have had it in for Rooney since his defection to United six years ago and the Everton and England defender admits it will probably happen again, fuelled by the allegations.
"He normally gets a bit of stick anyway. I can’t see that changing on Saturday," said Jagielka. "I’m sure Wayne can deal with it. He’s a tough lad and he’ll let his football do the talking."
