Italy coach Lippi: Inter Milan do not have title wrapped up

Italy coach Marcello Lippi insists runaway Serie A leaders Inter Milan can be reigned in.

Many pundits feel next weekend's encounter between Inter and Juventus could actually decide the 2009-10 season even though it's only three months old.

Speaking at the Gala of Triveneto football, Lippi said: “The championship is still open. To speak about a title race already being over after 14 weeks seems to be exaggerated to me, seeing that there are still 24 games to play and almost six months in which different factors can be decisive.

“Undoubtedly certain things are becoming clear, but to speak about the Scudetto already being assigned appears exaggerated.”
