In 1999 At the age of 17 Thiago signed with FC Barcelona in their B side before working his way into the first team and debuting in 2001. after several years with Barcelona Thiago signed for Athletico Madrid. Injury plagued his season before joining Genoa in Italy. After a season with Genoa the Central Midfielder was picked up by his current club Inter Milan.

Currently playing for Inter Milan, the centre midfielder has progressed from playing in the Barcelona B Side to playing for Inter Milan. Over his career so far he has honours such as 2 Spanish leagues, 2 UEFA champions league, 2 Spanish supercups, 1 Italian league and 1 Italian Cup.
