Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has turned down a personal plea from Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to buy him back.

La Repubblica says Ibrahimovic made contact with Moratti a fortnight ago to apologise for his conduct last season and to ask about returning to Inter this summer. The Swede even offered to take a dramatic pay-cut to make the move happen.

Moratti was polite with his response, but told Ibrahimovic basically: "Thanks, but no thanks."

The development does suggest Ibra will seek a move from Barca after a frustrating first year in Spain.
