Inter Milan president Moratti: Nothing to read into Mourinho tears

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has shrugged off the significance of Jose Mourinho welling up after winning the Scudetto on Sunday.

For many in the Italian press, it was a sure sign that Mourinho was preparing to say farewell to Inter.

Moratti scoffed: “I just got up and read the newspapers. At times it's wonderful to read something positive.”

When asked for his opinion on Mourinho's tears, Moratti replied: “In life you need to interpret everything, but those tears were also a sign of great humanity and affection towards the players and the fans.

“To satisfy the curiosity [about Mourinho's future], we'll have to wait for the end of the game against Bayern.

“Now we need to turn the page. We have a few days to prepare for the encounter.

“There is no bother. Mourinho is free to do it, being foreign, but he hasn't said what he will do.”
