Iceland starlet Vidarsson grateful for Everton education
KV Mechelen midfielder Bjarni Vidarsson will always be grateful for his Everton education.
Iceland U21 captain Vidarsson is now playing in Belgium after leaving Everton in 2008 following four years at Goodison Park. He also played for FC Twente in the Netherlands before joining Mechelen in the summer, but will never forget his Scottish education on Merseyside.
“David Moyes was a massive influence on my career,” he told The Herald. “He gave me my chance in football. I learned a lot from him at Everton and I also played and trained with David Weir during my time there.”
