Hull City boss Phil Brown played down the reasons for his missing headset after their draw at Manchester City.
Brown no longer wears his head microphone to communicate with his assistant Brian Horton in the stand.
He revealed: "Quite simply, it's broke. Someone stood on it - but I'm not going there.
"I haven't changed. I'm just conscious of my role. I never felt I was becoming more the story than the team. I will never be as a big as Hull City."
