Hughton at loggerheads with Newcastle over new No2
Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton is at loggerheads with his board over his choice to replace Colin Calderwood.
The Daily Star says Hughton wants to bring in his own No.2 in the wake of Calderwood’s departure to Hibernian.
Former Republic of Ireland boss Brian Kerr, now in charge of the Faroe Islands, is his choice after the Toon failed to agree terms with former Chelsea and West Ham coach Steve Clarke.
But managing director Derek Llambias and the board are keen to promote reserve-team coach Peter Beardsley.
