Houston Dynamo to open youth academy in El Paso
The Texan club are set to spread the search for homegrown talent by developing the academy where they hope to produce some future Dyanmo stars.
"El Paso has been identified as a real hotbed of talent," said James Clarkson, the Dynamo's Academy Director, told the El Paso Times. "Unfortunately for El Paso, it certainly hasn't had the attention it deserves.
"We want to change that. We can offer the elite player an opportunity to become a pro soccer player. It's great to be able to give youth who do have dreams a goal to achieve.”
The academy will open this August for ages 4 through 12. It will add an age each year for the next five years until it is ages 4 through 17 in 2015 and will join academies in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and McAllen, Texas.
