Honduran striker trials with Rangers

Rangers boss Walter Smith has confirmed the Gers taken Honduran striker Georgie Welcome on trial.

Welcome has been on Rangers' list of targets for some time with Gers assistant manager Ally McCoist watching him in action at the World Cup this summer.

"Georgie Welcome will be coming to join us next week on trial," Smith told the club's official website.

"We can't play him in the games because of the work permit situation but we can look at him training.

"We will see what happens and then take it from there."
