Hargreaves tipped for Man Utd comeback this weekend

Owen Hargreaves is tipped to see action for Manchester United this Saturday against West Bromwich Albion.

The United midfielder has made only one first-team appearance since undergoing a career-saving double knee operation in 2008.

Even then, he only came on as a last-minute substitute against Sunderland at the end of last season. But, having battled his way back from tendinitis problems, the £17m man is expected to be included in United’s squad against Roberto Di Matteo’s Premier League new boys at Old Trafford.

World famous surgeon Dr Richard Steadman, who operated on Hargreaves, has confirmed he is at last ready to return to action.

“Owen should play some part on Saturday,” he said.

“Our physical therapist Luke O’Brien has been working very closely with United’s coaches on his rehab. It’s been a long road back and there have been some setbacks along the way. But
I’ve got a lot of admiration for the way Owen has responded – he’s never given up. Things are looking good for him now.”
