Hamilton warn Burnley to up bid for McCarthy

Hamilton boss Billy Reid says Burnley must up their offer to land midfielder James McCarthy.

Reid told The Scotsman: "I don't deny Burnley have made enquiries about James, but it's not right for us at the minute. We know how important an asset he is to us.

"There has always been interest in James, it's the nature of the game, and we keep him informed at all times.

"I expect to see him at the start of pre-season training next week."

Burnley must bring in players with quality and loads of Premier League experience...this will help if they ever find themselves in the battle for Premier League survival next season...
