Gold Coast coach Bleiberg: We can get better
Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg is confident his league-leading team can get even better.
United surged back to the top of the A-League table after their 1-0 win over previous ladder leaders Sydney FC on Sunday and with four wins from their past five outings, Bleiberg believes his side can improve further aided by the return of some key players.
“Look, I am not being arrogant here, but we can get better for sure. And we will get better with Charlie Miller, Robson and Adama Traore all ready to come back over the next couple of weeks. When we have all three back, that's when you will see us at our best,” Bleiberg said.
"I don't think we fear any team.”
Gold Coast has three vital clashes coming up in the next few weeks against teams that have defeated them during the season and Bleiberg insists his players have long memories.
"The players are coming from a different angle for those games," he added.
"They have not forgotten that those three teams humiliated us at various stages of the season.
"The Mariners beat us 3-0, Melbourne beat us once when we had 10 men for 70 minutes then beat us 4-0 when we had a virtual reserve team and Wellington bashed us up 6-0 . . . so there is no need to motivate the players for these games.
"We are not looking too far ahead, just game by game, but we want to kill them one by one."
