Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg was very relieved after his side produced their first win of the season on Sunday.

United were able to overcome league leaders Perth Glory 1-0 at nib stadium in Round 6t o open their winning account much to the delight of their boss.

"Very important," Bleiberg said when asked about the win.

"You know what happens to coaches who start the season and finish winless, then I have to go and work in the mineshaft.

"I think the way we played the first 60 minutes we deserved what we got. (Goalscorer) Jason (Culina) missed the other clear chance that could have made it 2-0 and then I would have less grey hair."

The win put the Gold Coast to seventh on the table ahead of this weekend’s clash with Central Coast Mariners at home.
