Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg was disappointed after his side was held to a 0-0 draw by Central Coast Mariners at home yesterday.

United made all the running in the Week 7 clash and looked dangerous throughout the contest but were unable to break down the Mariners defence which was well-led by skipper Alex Wilkinson and teenage goalkeeper Mathew Ryan.

Bleiberg admitted his side probably should have won the match but it wasn’t to be and the point kept them in eighth place on the A-League table.

“It was a good point for the Mariners and all credit to them because they are near the top of the ladder and they got what they came for,” Bleiberg said after the match.

“For us it’s a fine line between heartache and glory in games like this. Had we won 1-0 and taken all three points we would be dancing on the tables. Having only taken one point, we are still sitting.”
