Ryan Giggs has paid tribute to Manchester United's younger players after their third consecutive title triumph.

He said: “I have seen the team change a number of times in my time here. The young lads in this side like Wayne (Rooney) and Cristiano (Ronaldo) help to keep players like myself going.

“But this season it has been seeing new players like ‘Kiko’ Macheda, who came in and scored twice, and Rafael who have had an impact on me.

“You watch them and you remember how you felt when you were their age, fearless and keen and it rubs off on you.

“We also still have experience here and the manager has seen it and done it, as have a lot of the players.

“So when you are in situations like we were against Spurs, Aston Villa and Wigan we keep playing our football and trust the talent we have got comes through.

“I think it is all set for this team to go on and win much more. It is a young team and as long as they keep their hunger and desire they will do that. I am sure the manager will make sure of it. It can go on, definitely.”
