Gerrard: This season's learning curve will help Liverpool
Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard believes this campaign's title-chasing experience will stand them in good stead next season.
Liverpool have not won the league since 1990 but Gerrard is proud of how the Reds made Manchester United work hard for their Premiership title.
He told the club's official website: "I am really proud. This season is the first time I've ever been involved in a title race and, from a personal point of view, I've certainly enjoyed it. Speaking to the other boys, they've enjoyed it too.
"Obviously we were unfortunate not to win the league, but we can take a lot of positives from this season moving forward.
"We've put in some terrific performances this year and have performed well as a team. I think we can use this experience and take big confidence into next campaign.
"As far as trophies are concerned, we've finished empty-handed, but I think we can be really proud of how we have performed. From maybe mid-December onwards we've shown championship-winning form.
"To win the Premier League you have to have had experience of being involved in a title race and let's hope the experience we've gained this year will help us go one better next season."

Liverpool had a fantastic season and real progress was made. It is the first time that they have played Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U and have remain unbeaten. Doing the double against Man U was especially sweet for Liverpool considering the historical rivalry. A few tweaks and less team rotation and Liverpool can avoid their failures of this season.
loserfool win 0 trophy in this year .... hahaha
very happy for that ... it was great pleasure to watch loserfool player and fan talking about lose .. hehehehe
Agger ur clueless. First Man U beat Barca last year, not Liverpool. When Liverpool beat Barca 2 years ago it was by away goals rule. Also both teams played cowardly soccer, just like Chelsea this year, against Barca b/c they do not have the talent and technique to keep up with Barca. Liverpool starts Lucas Leiva, Kuyt, Babel etc. U think any of those players would ever play 5min at Barca? Our bench has players like Hleb and Gudjohnsen who would start on Liverpool. Get a life loser, u have no idea how the game is played
