Ricardo Fuller admits he feared for his Stoke City future after being sent-off and fined for rowing with club captain Andy Griffin earlier this season.

Fuller, 29, said: “I’ve not seen it again, I tried to forget about it. It has cost me dearly and it’s not something I want to repeat.

“If the club wanted to sell me, I couldn’t have argued or tried to fight my position to stay.

"It was one of those things. I’m a player who likes to get stuck in. It’s not something I’m happy about but it’s all done and dusted now. Everybody is back to normal.

“The team spirit is back and we want to keep it going. We’re friends again. It’s not as if we never spoke ever again. We sorted it out on the Monday.

“I actually think it helped us. After that incident everyone rallied round and we stuck together even more.”
