Fulham boss Hodgson: Fans will take Premiership safety over Euro glory
Fulham boss Roy Hodgson knows their fans would put staying in the Premiership ahead of winning the Europa League.
Fulham face Roma tomorrow night for their latest Europa League tie.
“I think for us it is THE most important thing," Hodgson told TalkSport of their Premiership priority.
"It was bought home to me yesterday (after the Liverpool win), being in the Premier League is such an important thing to maintain and it gives you matches like yesterday and I think your fans really appreciate that and I don’t think that our fans would really appreciate us finishing at the bottom of the table but getting to the quarter-finals of Europe.
"I still think next year they want to see Liverpool there again, they want to see Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Aston Villa, Everton etc etc etc. They are the teams they want to see at Craven Cottage and to do that we’ve got to make sure we maintain our position in the league.”
