Flores out of Adelaide United’s top of the table clash
Adelaide United playmaker Marcos Flores has been ruled out of tomorrow night’s top of the table clash with Brisbane Roar.
The Argentine has been forced out of the squad because of a niggling groin injury in what is a huge loss for the Reds, compounding their other injury woes.
Travis Dodd and Mathew Leckie are already on the sidelines and Flores’ problem only adds to Rini Coolen’s issues for his side’s biggest game of the season so far.
The Dutch tactician admitted Flores was hoping to be right for the first versus second contest but he simply wasn’t moving freely enough to take to Brisbane.
“Flores wanted to play tomorrow but we took the decision not to put him on the pitch,” Coolen said.
“I think it’s a real smart decision. We built him up for this training session, he’s not 100 per cent fit…of course he wants to play and do something good for our team, but after talking with him personally, we both took the decision not to play with him and make sure he is ready for our next game.”
