Florentino: Calderon should've signed Man Utd's Ronaldo for Real Madrid

Real Madrid president-elect Florentino Perez has slammed the transfer policy of predecessor Ramon Calderon.

Real Madrid president-elect Florentino Perez has slammed the transfer policy of predecessor Ramon Calderon.

Perez says Calderon gaffed failing to land Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

He said: "We need to catch up. With respect for all the players signed after I left, the change was not done correctly.

"When Zidane retired, he (Calderon) should have brought another star, when Beckham and Kaka didn't happen, he should have signed Cristiano Ronaldo.

"So with an effort, we will see the numbers involved and we will do everything possible to ensure that this year we have a great team."
