FINAL WHISTLE: West Ham 1-3 Bolton

West Ham’s poor start to the season has continued, going down 3-1 to Bolton Wanderers at home.

Hammers striker Carlton Cole began the rot in the 33rd minute when he missed a penalty before defender Matthew Upson put the Trotters in front with an own goal in the 48th minute.

Johan Elmander scored the first of his double twenty minutes later before West Ham hit back thanks to a Mark Noble penalty but Elmander grabbed a second with six minutes remaining to give the visitors maximum points.
