Ferguson wants Man Utd top before Chelsea face Arsenal

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants victory over Portsmouth today to go back to the top of the table.

With Chelsea facing a huge game against Arsenal tomorrow, Fergie knows he could turn up the heat by beating Portsmouth today.

That would put the champions back on top of the table for 24 hours at least.

Fergie said: "I think the key is us winning against Portsmouth.

"The nature of our league, as we've seen all season, is that teams are going to drop points when we don't expect them to. Therefore we don't want to be a casualty to that."
