Ferguson close to making decision over Scotland future
Barry Ferguson will make a final decision on his international future before Birmingham jet off on their pre-season tour of Hong Kong and China, reports the Sunday Mercury.
Scotland boss Craig Levein agreed to leave the 32-year-old alone during the summer to let him think over his invitation to rejoin the Scotland fold.
Ferguson has been in international exile since April 2009 following the ban that he received for the infamous ‘Boozegate’ saga.
“We had an agreement that we would leave it over the summer and then I would speak to him (Ferguson) when he was back at training,” said Levein. “So they will be back in training next week so I would expect to meet up sometime next week.”
