Ferdinand reveals how Man Utd all business after victory over AC Milan

Rio Ferdinand has revealed how Manchester United were all business after their 4-0 thumping of AC Milan.

The England captain admits there was no celebrating in the home dressing room, despite the significance of the Champions League triumph.

“It was weird,” he told the Sunday Express, “because we were sitting in the changing room afterwards and if someone had come in there with a camera you wouldn’t have thought we had just beaten AC Milan 4-0.

“It wasn’t exactly subdued, there was a sense of achievement but it was not something we were jumping and dancing about.

“And I think that speaks volumes as to where we are at as a team. We don’t sit and dwell on individual victories. We look to win trophies and look to the bigger picture. We are motivated by wanting to win trophies.

“This season we are in a decent position in the league and in the next round of the Champions League. But we haven’t won the big two competitions yet so we don’t jump around and harp on about what we have just achieved in a single game.

“We were delighted to get the kind of result we did. Milan are an experienced side with some quality players who can open you up in a second, but we coped well with them. Respect to Milan, they are a good side but we move on. We are just happy to be in the next round.

“Real Madrid’s defeat provides everyone with a warning that no team is guaranteed a place in the final.”
