Brisbane Roar coach Frank Farina is eager to secure striker Sergio van Dijk to a new contract.

Brazilian midfielder Henrique penned a three-year deal yesterday and Farina is now turning his attention to Van Dijk.

"Serge is still only 27, he's doing well and he's important for us," Farina said.

"I'd like to keep him and I've told him that."
