Malaysian striker Mohd Amri Yahyah is surprised at the fanfare he has received since scoring a double against Manchester United.

The 28-year old managed a volley past Edwin van der Sar and a cool finish around Ben Foster in Malaysia’s 3-2 loss to the English champions on Saturday and his stock has risen since then.

“It feels like being in a different world now,” said Amri yesterday.

“Whoever I meet, they talk of the two goals and congratulate me. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I am happy to have left behind something for the fans to remember.

“In fact, I need to thank national coach K. Rajagobal for giving me the break to don national colours after a three-year break.”
