Paul Jewell says Liverpool fans could turn on Rafa Benitez after Monday night's defeat at Wigan Athletic.
Former Wigan Athletic boss and Liverpool striker Jewell feels Reds fans will soon lose patience with Benitez.
Jewell told the Daily Mail: "The fans have closed ranks in the past but they won't put up with that.
"There are ways to lose and last night was no way to lose. Liverpool can't go to Wigan and get outplayed like that. As a team Liverpool are a million miles from being as good as the club."
