Ex-Vietnam coach Riedl takes over Laos U23s

Former Vietnam national team coach Alfred Riedl has taken over the Laos U23 team.

The 59-year old Austrian tactician has signed on a seven-month contract to lead the Laotian team in the 2009 SEA Games.

According to Vietnamese media reports Riedl inked the deal with the Laotian football authorities in Ho Chi Minh City at the end of June and that his salary will be financed by the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group.

Riedl is a former Austrian national team striker and has management experience at international level with Vietnam, Austria, Liechtenstein and Palestine.
