Dusko Tosic is free to sign with another Premiership club.
The Daily Mail says Tosic hopes to be free to continue his career next week after the Serbian FA made a plea to Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore.
Tosic, 25, had his registration withheld as a Portsmouth player following their administration and has been left in limbo.
But Scudamore has assured Zoran Lakovic, Serbia FA general secretary, that along with the FA they will nullify any contract with Portsmouth and make him a free agent again on Monday - enabling him to sign for Premier League clubs.
