Ex-Chelsea defender Minto: Never a foul by Man Utd's Fletcher

Former Chelsea defender Scott Minto says Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher was unlucky to concede the free-kick that led to John Terry's winner on Sunday.

United players left Stamford Bridge furious with some of the decisions made by ref Martin Atkinson.

Minto told TalkSport: “First of all, Darren Fletcher is one of those annoying players where if you are playing against him, you’d hate playing against him, but you’d love him to be on your side and I actually felt it wasn’t a free-kick.

"I thought he got the ball first but Ashley Cole, because of the way he was running towards Darren Fletcher, he was quite clever in the sense that he got there first, Ashley Cole, but Darren Fletcher also got the ball but because he sort of ran into him he made it look as if it was a foul and I think the referee kind of went for that. I thought it was clever and I didn’t think it was a foul.”

Im a legend.. cant wait to see how chelski do without me (prob not that well).. well we'll see come january when me, jon, michael and soloman are off to africa for the african nations cup..

Well these things happen in footy and it was unfortunate. Johnny evans's challenge on drogba was not a foul as it was not with intent. What was outrageous tho was the ref yellow carding drogba.. either it was his reputation (in a similar fashion to the boy who cried wolf) or he must have said something to the ref. Either way it was wrong he was inadvertantly injured. All in all the game should have ended a draw and that would have been a fair result on reflection on the game as they dominated but we grabbed a goal out of a rare chance.

Agreed with Cheryl, it does even itself out, my ashley got an injury from his dive and rightly so. Now he will prob for a while.. thats not the worst of it for him.. i am finally getting the courage to leave him (did u see me on the tele.. i was wearing no ring :P)
